INTO THE WOMB – BEHIND THE PRODUCTION
A stop-motion exploration of origin, transformation, and memory.
"Into the Womb" was crafted as a deeply personal and tactile project using traditional stop-motion animation techniques. Every frame was photographed by hand, using cut paper puppets and textured backgrounds that were carefully assembled and repositioned for each movement.
What began as a simple experiment in analog animation grew into a full-scale narrative project, blending handcrafted aesthetics with digital post-production. From meticulous lighting setups to the delicate process of frame-by-frame capture, the production embraced the physicality of creation: scissors, glue, and light forming the heartbeat of the piece.
The project was shot over several weeks, combining long nights of animating with sound design and compositing in post. Despite my training in real-time rendering and digital tools, Into the Womb reminded me of the magic found in imperfection and patience.
This film stands as a tribute to the raw, intimate nature of handmade animation, and a return to the roots of visual storytelling.
